The Kentucky Derby 2024 is the 150th running on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

 The Kentucky Oaks is on Friday May 3 (think pink!)

Both are at the iconic Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

Remember - the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing dates: 

The Kentucky Derby is the 1st Saturday in May, (May 4), The Preakness Stakes is May 18,

and The Belmont Stakes is June 8 at Saratoga

Return Policy:

PLEASE NOTE - Due to the nature of our products, for health reasons and event specific purchases,

all hats and fascinators are FINAL SALE.  Please contact us if you have a question about color or size of hats or fascinators.         We'd be happy to work with you to make your shopping experience a positive one.

 

Shipping: 

We ship USPS. The United State Post Office has dramatically raised their rates, but we find them the most cost efficient and reliable shipper.  We primarily ship Priority Mail and will send you a tracking number. Many of our larger hats and fascinators require a larger box. USPS charges by the size of box, and distance traveled from Louisville, Kentucky, NOT by weight. Therefore, some of our products will require an additional shipping charge. We will contact you before we ship.

Shipping to Your Hotel:

If you are coming into Louisville, KY for the Kentucky Derby, we will gladly ship your hat or fascinator to your hotel.  The concierge will hold it for you. You just need to let us know the hotel and the date of your arrival. This works perfectly so you only need to transport your headwear back home on the plane.  We are unable to deliver.

Picking up Product in Louisville:

If you prefer, contact us and you can pick up your product in Louisville. We do not have a storefront or shop, but a small studio located about 20 minutes from downtown Louisville.

Custom Orders:

We are able to do a limited amount of custom work - contact us if you are interested at hatsoffbyhelen@gmail.com or (502)553-4342.

You can text us an image of your dress. All special orders for the Kentucky Derby must be received by April 1, 2024. Please plan ahead! 

Pricing will depend on type of item and cost of materials, talent, tax and shipping.

Customization:

If you see an item on the web site, but want an additional embellishment, for example a specific color feather or flower added to coordinate with your outfit, we can do that for and additional fee.  We can also add a pop of color to a monochromatic hat or fascinator to match your outfit, however we can not remove items, as they are sewn or glued, and removing them would compromise the piece.

We accept charge cards - Mastercard and Visa, PayPal, Venmo and cash. If you prefer not to do this online (system is secure, but we understand) you may contact us (502)553-4342 and purchase over the phone.

Group Orders: 

We would love to work with your company if you are entertaining a group of clients and wants to gift them a hat or fascinator from the Bluegrass State. Contact us to arrange for type and size of group order, timing and delivery to your hotel.
